I'm somewhat of a purist when it comes to these treats - no dried fruits, nuts or chocolate are allowed in my butter tarts. And I like a gooey centre.
Since I'm the baker, they're made according to my preferences. This recipe is perfect (if you ignore the last few filling ingredients). The tart has a high crust to filling ratio out of necessity as the filling is quite sweet.
