Too sour and too salty. Admittedly, we are at least half culpable as we used half of the amount of beans and the full amount of anchovies before we realised (though we did only use half of the amount of lemon juice), but yet I can't imagine that getting the proportions right would have made that much of a difference (of course in the end we ate only half of the anchovies, if not less).
