A humble and hearty meal for a cold winter’s day and a great way to use up left over baked ham.
Cabbage, onions and apples spiced with cloves and juniper “ I love having another recipe that calls for this under-used spice - are cooked slowly with vinegar and some demerara sugar for a great sweet-sour flavour. This mixture alone would make a great side dish though next time I would add the apple slices much later so they retain more of their shape and texture. The ham is added at the end to heat...
