So, now my kumquat repertoire has been extended to two recipes! This is a really nice salad, broccoli and olives in citrusy surrounding. This would be a nice picnic or potluck recipe.

I have only used kumquats for marmalade, however in Paris this summer, I had an amazing dish -- duck breast with kumquots. Thank yo for reminding me of that!

I thought kumquats were a fall/winter sort of thing? But I really don't know. They're so seldom in the markets that I just buy some whenever I see them. A paper with kumquat recipes just fell out of this book as I was putting it up. This includes a recipes for Braised Duck with Green Olives and Kumquats; it might be something to start with. I just found the recipe on the kumquat growers site: <a href="http://www.kumquatgrowers.com/recipe023.html">http://www.kumquatgrowers.com/recipe023.html</a> Kumquat growers! They have a lots of recipes to explore.

Yes, they must have used preserved kumquots in my parisian dish (still fantastic). I found this article by Amanda Hesser about kumquots, you might be interested. It also includes the duck recipe! <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2006/02/26/magazine/26food.html?_r=0">http://www.nytimes.com/2006/02/26/magazine/26food.html?_r=0</a>
