I really enjoyed this, but I should admit that I fudged the recipe a little bit. I didn't make the recommended tomato sauce, but used a homemade tomato sauce from a different cookbook (I think it was America's Test Kitchen) instead, and added a pound of ground beef and a half pound of pork sausage while it was cooking. I'm personally of the opinion that's it's hard to really mess up lasagna, but this is a great basic recipe that has lots of room for creative additions.
