Speculaskruiden

This is a special dutch spice mixture which is similar to pumpkin pie spice. This recipe provides the components and their ratio. The only negative is that if you only need about 1 tsp, you are stuck trying to estimate 1/20th of a tsp. For me, that is no issue, I just wing it. However I asked my engineer husband to prepare the spice mixture, and the exacting engineering side of his brain wasn't happy with "wing it". Nevertheless, this provided an interesting flavor for my Dutch apple pie, and the Dutch friend who organized the dinner told me it smelled authentic.
