Online cookbook buying
I never buy unless I get free shipping. They're always sending you free shipping deals and other sales in your email.

Online cookbook buying
I've been a member of Crafter's Choice for years. Originally, I used my membership to buy knitting books but now I use it for cookbooks. Crafter's Choice and The Good Cook are the same club. I LOVE getting cookbooks this way. I of…

Best cookbook of 2011
Although it would never win any awards nor was it published in 2011, my pick would have to be the America's Test Kitchen Family Cookbook. I tried 13 recipes from this book last year. A few of them were successful enough that they have become …

Holiday gifts
This isn't technically a holiday gift but, today, while out thrift shopping with my husband I ran across a like new copy of The New Laurel's Kitchen for $3.99. I picked it up off the shelf and gave it a big hug like it was a long lost fri…

Kitchen Disasters
Oooh, that rusty water sounds nasty and just like something that would happen to me. This afternoon I decided to get a head start on some Christmas gifts from the kitchen. I started a batch of peanut brittle and it was coming along nicely until I …

Holiday Challenge 2011: The Pie and Pastry Bible
Our library is teeny tiny and does not carry the book. Even if I could get it on inter library loan, the loan period is for 2 weeks which can not be extended. I'm fine following along and using my own Pie cookbook which I bought ages ago and h…

Holiday Challenge 2011: The Pie and Pastry Bible
I won't be participating in this challenge. I can't justify buying another pie book when I rarely make pies. I will be following along, however, and using my own favorite pie book - Ken Haedrich's Pie.

Thanks, Andrew. I'll place my order now. My library has a very small selection - actually it's a very small building - so I'll be purchasing one.

So, Andrew, is that the final word. Will the new challenge be The Barefoot Contessa Cookbook? If so, I'd like to order one.

I have to admit that I've never been an Ina fan - I just find her so sticky sweet and pretentious. I don't own a single Ina cookbook but I'd buy one once the book is chosen or if we do multiple books I'd love a recommendation fo…

Andrew - while you're fixing bugs, I'd still love to be able to view other members besides the top 30. Although I can get to the first page of all the members, when I click the arrow to go to the next page I go right back to the top 30 me…

Silly, Queezle! I can't believe you waited so long. I don't like EYB for recipe reviews - I used Cookbooker for that - but it is awesome for searching your cookbooks. Their search functions are quite well done. Enjoy!

Labor Day is the traditional end to summer and, thus, the end of grilling season. Of course, many of us continue to grill right through the winter months - even when we need to shovel the snow in front of the grill to get to it. I'd love to s…

Queezle - I wasn't trying to be funny. I thought perhaps I was missing some insider information or a private joke. LOL! I really like the recipe tags and I have gone back and tagged my recipe reviews. Most of the time the tag is something sim…

Andrew - Is it possible to see members beyond the top 30? I'm curious how many members we have now and I'd like to be able to view the bookshelves and review lists of members beyond just the ones on the top 30 page.

Favorite Summer Time Meals
I've got plans to try some new dishes for our neighborhood 4th of July party. I'm going to make the Cheater Baked Beans from Veganomicon and the Spicy Coleslaw from pioneerwoman. I can hardly wait to try them both.

Tips and Tricks of the Trade
A simple baking tip. When spooning flour or cocoa powder (or any dry ingredient) into measuring cups, do so over a piece of waxed paper. Then you can swish a knife over the cup to level, capture the extra flour and pour it back into the container.

Andrew - why do some reviews show up on the front page and others do not? For that matter, some reviews show up when you go to Browse Reviews and others do not. Just curious.
