Queezle Sister
This picture shows Queezle, a quail who lived with us for a year. She because our friend (not dinner), but eventually a wild male courted her through the window, and so she returned to the wild.

A link problem -- when going to the challenge page, just above "previous challenges" is a link to see all the reviews of the cookbook. This brings us to all the moosewood cookbook reviews. Probably an easy fix.

Small scale scale...
Nice scale! It sure is great when having excellent tools doesn't break the bank. I'm curious about your coffee making - you weigh out for each pot/cup?

How do you start a cookbook club?
Salt Lake City is probably too far. But if not, amyrinco, we'd welcome you. We met last night and cooked out of Diana Kennedy's The Essential Cuisines of Mexico. It was an amazing meal - I prepared two appetizers (reviews soon to come),…

I picked up a copy yesterday - only a brief look but so far it appears to be amazing! I'm looking forward to reading lots of interesting reviews.

I like the tabs with the search! Its very nice. I did find, though, that when I clicked to the next page, or tried to sort based on review rating, it appeared to revert to the recipe tab, and not stay on the cookbook tab.

I'm sorry, Beth - yes the library thing won't apply to everyone. And I'd trade my rich library resources for a peaceful NH village any day! I just figure that other people might be like me, and unable to afford buying each of the …

My area libraries have four copies of this book. I encourage others with either groaning bookshelves or financial constraints to look to their library -- this is a classic and I'd guess your library system might also have a copy.

The book "Rick Bayless's Mexican Kitchen: Capturing the Vibrant flavors of a World-Class Cuisine" is already owned by 32 cookbooker members, and it has excellent reviews (both here and at Amazon). Amazon also has quite a few used cop…

On the plus side - the recipes appear authentic, and well researched. Next week I'll be sampling a range of recipes at our cookbook club - and not all recipes call for odd body parts.

I'm definitely in the mood to learn to cook Mexican foods. I recently purchased Essential Cuisines of Mexico - but don't let that sway your challenge choice. I want to make the Pozole, but cannot get past the 1/2 pig's head called f…

Love, love, love this website and all my virtual cooking buddies. I do have an idea - not a big deal - but something that might be nice. When I was recently reading through all the reviews for a particular book, it seemed cumbersome to have to go …

Thank you all - I learn so much from these challenges! And I'm still wow'd by Zosia's efforts ;) These challenges have changed the way I cook, and we all just love it.

So beautiful! I went to a Berber village in Morocco and was served a lovely tagine meal. The adjacent room housed goats, fairly primitive, but people seemed really happy. It was in the foothills of the Atlas mountains, and the major mode of trans…

I've never before looked at the whole lineup of James Beard Foundation awards. It was much more diverse - so many categories - and very interesting.
