This picture shows Queezle, a quail who lived with us for a year. She because our friend (not dinner), but eventually a wild male courted her through the window, and so she returned to the wild.

What makes a cookbook a clunker and what do you do with them?
I'm thrilled to be finally taking my cookbooks out of storage. However, I think I should use this as an opportunity to get rid of some. What defines a clunker? Only one bad recipe? I'm thinking about huckleberry - and that it seems to …

Problems with - Huckleberry by Zoe Nathan
What an interesting post. I especially liked the suggestion #1 - let things get browner. I know I'm guilty of removing things from the oven too soon. I also find that my sense of smell is an excellent judge of cooking, and I should be more c…

Hey guys, we are 50 reviews away from my hoped-for goal of 17,000. That is amazing - 177 reviews since October 9th. I don't think we will hit that milestone by December 1st, but we are doing great.

Best-of-the-year cookbook lists for 2014
I guess Plenty More is on my want list, but mostly I want more time to cook. However, what do you want to bet that when the critics come up with their top 10 list, it will cause my wish list to expand, too.

I'm following your pinterest board - is it just me, or does anyone else feel that there have not been as many big splashy clear winner cookbooks? Its probably me because I've not been cooking as much (and so less reading about cooking).

Hi Brenda, I am loving my induction cooktop. It's chief attribute is the time to come up to temperature - I was able to get 2 quarts of water to boiling in under 2 minutes! Other remarkable attributes is the very quick response to changing th…

cooking at the NYT is now available to all, and it seems like a great resource. But for reviewing, how should we register this web site? Cooking? Or should we use the other NYT sites that are already registered here on cookbooker? For example, I…

Granola
Great ideas. I just have to try that egg white approach! I'm hoping to get granola'd up this weekend, so watch for my reviews! Then I travel back to see Mom for 2 weeks - hopefully will do some cooking there.

Awesome bunny! And yes, I agree that simply registering something as made but with no written commentary is a disappointment. Still no cooktop working, but I am loving my ovens. The speed oven is interesting to play with. I can put in a plate o…
