I've had this cookbook for more than 15 years, and always wanted to prepare this.
I thought that this dish was delicious. The rice/egg mixture on the bottom has a surprising spice mix - dill, mint, and cayenne. This gave a good zip to the base, and I would have been hard pressed to guess the spices.
The top - broccoli standing up - were so cute. You sprinkle lemon juice and butter over the broccoli before baking - that really added a wonderful touch. The lemon flavor was the first thing my son commented on. Between the lemony broccoli and the slightly spicy and cheesy rice, it was very satisfying.
One note: this calls for a 6 inch by 10 inch pyrex pan. Luckily, I had a vintage pan that was exactly that size, but you could easily substitute something else.
