This sandwich is crunchy, sweet, and savory - all at once. And very easy to make. I prepared this with ordinary sandwich bread, thinly sliced fuji apple, sharp cheddar cheese, and pecans. The instructions suggested a low broiler setting, and it did a perfect job of melting the cheese without incinerating the nuts.
This delightful sandwich also works well with gorganzola cheese, and a variety of different breads, and seems to appeal to adults and teens alike.
