Recipe Review

This is made using the tempeh bacon recipe in the book. You do need to allow time to marinate the tempeh in the oven for 30 minutes, then it is briefly browned in the skillet. The spread is delicious, but I had a lot left over. It would also make a good dip on its own. I served these on bakery sourdough bread. The bacon recipe was in a separate location from the blt recipe, which was a minor inconvenience.
These were pretty tasty, and I loved the tempeh bacon. I had a few pieces left that I meant to put on a sandwich, but I wolfed them down the next morning instead. I like this cookbook because even though these are all sandwiches, the recipes utilize lots of ingredients and can be a bit elaborate. My last vegan sandwich cookbook was pretty phoned in (I can figure out to put Veganaise and a tomato on bread all by myself, thanks), so I gave it away.

I really enjoy a sandwich-based dinner, so this sounds like quite an excellent book to me - I will have to see if its available at my library. Thanks for the thoughtful review.

I see that. I wish the site had more users, because it's a great idea, but it does give the site a homey feel.
