These are truly delicious but to be honest, there are easier ways to get that lovely garlic flavor into your mashed potatoes. I like these a lot but I LOVE Tyler Florence's Mashed Potatoes (Potatoes simmered in a mix of milk and cream with a halved head of garlic thrown in, a bay leaf and some sprigs of thyme. When potatoes are tender, drain, and mash with butter and some of the strained cooking milk/cream). Tyler's recipe is at the Food network site.
