New Features for Recipes
Just a suggestion that occurred to me. Sometimes when you look a recipe, you decide for whatever reason you don't want to make it. I would love to have some way to note that so that I'll remember it later. I don't want to review the r…

New Features for Recipes
@andrew - That would be great. I also noticed that you can no longer edit the Title or Page Number of a recipe that you added, to fix a mistake, if there is no review yet. I thought there used to be a way to do this. Am I missing it?

New Features for Recipes
I'm sorry if this was already addressed, but when you add private notes for a recipe under the ingredients list, can you then print it? I mean, I know you can just print the page showing in the browser, but sometimes you can use CSS to create a…

my personal cookbooker challenge
Just chiming in here -- I love buying new cookbooks, but I really need to use the ones I buy. So I'm committing to cooking 2 or 3 new recipes a week from a cookbook after I buy it over the course of a month (so adding up to 8-10 recipes). As La…

Cabbage Club - Cooking with Winter Vegetables and the New York Times
I have cooked Mark Bittman's Cabbage-and-Something Soup several times this winter already. It's a really adaptable and tasty cabbage soup (I like mine with potato). It's in the revised How to Cook Everything.

How do you rate recipes?
I guess I don't want to spend a lot of time and energy making something *unless* it's going to rate 5 stars. I can churn out a decent 4-star meal any day of the week, so I get frustrated if I put a lot of time into making something and the…

How do you rate recipes?
I've been thinking about this a lot lately too, and trying to get more consistent with my reviews. I usually save the 5 stars for recipes that tasted really great and I would really like to make again, so that I can find those quickly. 4 stars …

Favourite Thanksgiving Recipes?
I usually make mashed sweet potatoes or a potato gratin for Thanksgiving. This year, my in-laws have decided to have an Italian Thanksgiving, which I think is a great idea. Any suggestions for recipes traditionally served by Italian-Americans, parti…

How do you store and organise your herbs and spices?
I get all my spices from Penzey's. They have really great blends, although the blends with salt in them tend to clump (buyer beware). You can buy in bulk or small amounts, depending on your needs.

Future Challenges
How about a challenge for a classic cookbook or cookbook author, such as Julia Child, Marcella Hazan, Richard Olney, Elizabeth David or Diane Kennedy? For a more contemporary challenge, Rick Bayless would be a good choice as his food is good and cha…

Noticed a little bug in the search. When searching your own recipes or cookbooks, the first page only shows results from your library. But if you go to additional pages, it shows results from all libraries.

I would like to be able to see which books have the most recipe reviews. I find those really helpful in deciding what cookbooks to buy.

How do you organize your cookbooks?
I forgot to add that LibraryThing allows you to organize your books into collections. I use this feature to keep track of where books are located.

How do you organize your cookbooks?
I have a small bookshelf in my kitchen with 3 shelves. The top shelf contains cookbooks I use most often (Bittman, Cooks Illustrated, Foster) plus new cookbooks that I am cooking a lot out of right now. This way, when I'm looking for a recipe o…

I'd like to be able to sort the recipes I've reviewed by category, style and alphabetically. I see that you can sort them by recipe title now, but that appears to only work for the first 50 recipes or display page. Sorting them alphabetica…

Essential Cookbook
The cookbook that really taught me how to cook is How to Cook Everything by Mark Bittman, but I think I may be outgrowing it. For cookbooks that I return to again and again, I have found nothing better than Sara Foster's cookbooks, which featur…

What did you have for dinner?
Last night I used the last of our garden's plum tomatoes to make a lovely pomarola sauce for ziti. I have been eating pasta with fresh tomato sauce at least once a week for the past 2 months. I'm going to be sorry to see summer go.
