How do you store and organise your herbs and spices?
I keep my Indian spices in a Masala Dabba, the traditional spice box (but it is round.) My other spices are alphabetized and cross referenced to a database so I know when I bought them and when they should be pitched.

YOU ROCK Andrew! Now if I could create a spreadsheet of EVERY salad and dressing in each of my over 50 cookbooks, I would rule the world!

Thanks Andrew! QS, I looked at your bookshelf and don't think we have so much as a single book in common! Do you want to take the challenge to blogs or websites?

Just glancing at the review of the raita reviewed by Queezle Sister, it would be so simple to sub soy yogurt and get the same results, only vegan.

Classification Question
I think I'd put salad dressings under sauces/gravies until such time as they get their own classification. I'd be tempted to call sandwiches and wraps as "main dishes" based upon how we treat them. I mean, a sandwich is the main …

The current challenge for Leeka and I is to use Vegan Fusion World Cuisine and The Indian Slow Cooker (which I read last night from cover to cover) Both have gorgeous photography and both are brimming with ideas for lovely salads and exotic spice bl…

Thanks! If, for example, you mean healthier as in lowering cholesterol, then I can be your go to gal. Plant based diets have ZERO cholesterol. Challenge me to veganize any recipe or find a vegan version any time! I SO enjoy it!

Polenta Advice
I usually pack it in a loaf pan lined with plastic wrap to cool, then slice and fry it up, then sauce with Puttanesca sauce, ergo using it as a substitute for pasta.

Thanks for all the ideas and info on how to save recipes and notes. My personal challenge is, like many of you have expressed, to use the cookbooks I have for their intended purpose. Just listing them on my bookshelf here has made me aware that I h…
