Indian Food
Chowhound has selected Made in India as the Cookbook of the Month and so far just about every review has been a rave. I've made three recipes from the book (not reviewed as yet) and each was terrific.

Indian Food
How interesting! I really never thought about Indian food in that way. Yet it makes total sense--I love the juxtapositions of ingredients in Indian food. And I love the smells created when I cook Indian food. Starting from the toasting cumin seed…

I love reading the reviews too. I have often gotten great tips on how to make something and have been directed to recipes I might otherwise never have tried. I'm actually disappointed when I see that something has been reviewed and then find …

How do you start a cookbook club?
That does sound a little bloodthirsty for a vegan....I have two friends with whom I cook on occasion and it's great fun. Maybe we should try a little more cyber-club cooking.

Wow--most of these are new to me too. I did vote for Elizabeth Minchilli in Rome. Her blog is a real favorite of mine and I've learned some great cooking lessons from her--plus gotten some lovely glimpses of Italy.

I'm rooting for Sean Brock and David Lebovitz. Also I love Alice Medrich's new book (Flavor Flours) and have only skimmed the new Dorie Greenspan but it looks great. I find the "Bible" baking books a bit too precious. I was re…

I think I'd rather cook from the Bittman Vegetarian book--rather more modern and creative I think...and not all that 'American"

I own that book (Bittman/vegetarian) and, I'm ashamed to say, I've never cooked a thing out of it. It does appear to be the most owned.
