Nirvana for a chocoholic!
Dense, fudgy and very chocolate-y…… like a rich chocolate brownie topped with an equally intense chocolate-almond ganache.
The cupcake is very easy to make. The most time consuming part of the recipe is the measuring as there are a lot of ingredients…3 types of sugar/sweetener, 2 types of fat, flour, cocoa, ground almonds etc….. But once that’s done, dry ingredients are folded into wet and the batter is baked.
The icing is equally simple - you just need to allow some time for it to set.
These were a truly decadent treat made for a birthday celebration. Birthday boy gave them the 5 stars; flavour was phenomenal but I would have given only 4 as I prefer a more tender cake texture.
