This was the first babka recipe I tried and it really turned out beautifully. It wasn't hard to make but was very impressive.

This may be the best thing I've ever made, despite the fact that I modified the recipe to remove the dairy by using Earth Balance and soy milk rather than butter or cream. It's amazing, and since it makes three good-sized loaves, you can use them as gifts for people you really like.
