friederike from Berlin,
3 stars - under the assumption that, dispite its title, it's not supposed to be Chinese food. You see, it was actually quite nice, it just wasn't even remotely related to any Chinese fried rice I've ever tasted. And it contained no soy sauce, no garlic, no ginger, no shaoxiang, no sesame oil - no wonder, it left out nearly all the important ingredients. And as a result, it didn't stick, and eating it with chopsticks was a pain.
That said, it wasn't really bad, it was quite nice. We used canned corn for convenience, as shelling the prawns was bad enough. And we forgot to fry the prawns first, but that wasn't a problem, they cooked through anyway.
For a good fried rice, see Kylie Kwong's Mum's Fried Rice. She even has a recipe for Prawn Fried Rice, it's definitely on our list now.
