Protein increases muscle mass and when not enough protein is consumed your body uses protein that is stored in the muscles leading to muscle loss. A complete protein provides all nine essential amino acids that your body can not produce on its own. Examples of complete proteins are cod, skinless chicken, skinless white meat turkey, soybeans and quinoa.
