A cold soup!

Peaches and buttermilk - of course - but also a host of indian spices, such as cardomom, cinnamon, and nutmeg. The peaches are blanced, sliced, and most of them are blended with the buttermilk. The soup is sweetened only slightly (2 - 3 T honey), and either vanilla or almond extract. I used almond. After mixing it up, a couple reserved peaches are chopped in - to give a bit of texture. At the end, toasted slivered almonds are sprinkled on top.

I really enjoyed this - but be warned it only stays good for about a day. The bites that included toasted almonds were especially good.
