Recipe Review

16th March 2013

southerncooker from Boomer, NC

The only reason I didn't give this one five stars is that son in law said he liked my version of chicken pot pie better and hubby wouldn't even taste of it. Daughter and I loved it. I used the Coriander and orange roasted chicken recipe on page 148 as suggested in the recipe. Daughter and I liked the carrots and peas for the veggies in this one. We also liked that it has two types of onions, chopped and pearl. It only has a couple tablespoons of heavy cream in a half recipe and we loved the addition of tarragon. The salt and pepper on the top of the pastry dough gave it a nice touch as well. I also liked that you can bake in individual ramekins, which I did. I finally got to try out my yard sale find of red heart ramekins.
