This was good though I'd be tempted to increase the ginger and nutmeg a little. The suet gives a really light texture. It would benefit from a sauce - something with mustard and dill would be the obvious choice.

My dad bought this book after he & Mum had their first foreign holiday to Norway in 1959 (after which they started having kids and couldn't afford to holiday abroad again until the mid 1980s). He cooked quite a few recipes from it judging by the notes, and I remember some as part of his standard repertoire, but I don't think he tried this one.
