I really enjoyed this! And it actually looked as pretty as the picture! The authors compare this to knafeh (which is one of my favorite breakfasts) so I had to make it. I halved the recipe and came up with a generous 8x8 size square of cheesy goodness. I did add a couple drops of orange flower water to the syrup as suggested in the headnote.
