These are so good! And they are so easy. They take only a few moments to throw together in the food processor. After making these several times, I have come to the conclusion that the dough can be finished in the food processor and that the "smearing of dough" process is unnecessary. Also I find it easier to chill the dough in a disc and then roll it out to 1/4 inch depth and cut out the coins with a fluted round cutter. The 1/8 teaspoon of cayenne is more than enough for us--you get the heat without any pain. I also generally skip the salt on top of the warm coins--plenty of saltiness in the coin itself. The yield is exactly right -- just about 48 charming little coins which are great with cocktails, wine, beer--or even non-alcoholic snacking.
