I am on the fence about these - they are very moist and a tad too sweet for me. The dough is very oily and I actually expected a total disaster but they did come together. I weighed each cookie to 30-32 grams and baked 25 minutes. Perhaps I soaked them to long in the syrup (10 seconds as instructed), because I found the interior too "wet" (and I love a moist/gooey cookie) and too sweet (couldn't really taste the spices). I also am on the fence about them - I made them last year for a party where someone did not eat eggs (finding a good egg-free cookie was a bit of work). I found them a bit damp too, and the walnuts didn't stick well. But my son loved them and still asks if I can make them again...
