Very rich tasting. I cut a bit of the calories by using greek yogurt instead of sour cream, and it still tasted amazing.
I used skinless boneless chicken thighs instead of poussin, and red bell pepper in place of the green. Cooking time was perfect.

I adore paprikash - stewed chicken in a rich and creamy sauce spiced with paprika. This slow-cooker approach is a winner. I used 2 chicken leg quarters instead of the poussins called for, and it worked just fine. The meat was tender, almost falling off the bone, and the sauce was pleasant.

Hey Hipcook - great review! Do you think this recipe needs sweet paprika or do you think I could substitute smoked paprika without totally changing the dish?

Thanks! I'd try smoked paprika, sure. I'd expect it to add depth of flavor, so perhaps increase the onions and bell pepper to try and keep the balance with sweet/vegetal flavors.
