This is a very good vegetarian main course item, or a good side dish. I use roasted chilis instead of the green peppers, as it calls for, and the dish is then well-seasoned with the feta, chilis, cayenne, garlic and onion. It is good both with and without the optional seed or nut topping. It is really great served with homemade pilaf-style rice. Add a salad, and maybe bread, and this makes a very nice vegetarian dinner.

I really enjoyed this recipe, but I don't think of it as a casserole. Instead we used it like a dip or spread for pita or sandwiches.
