Nice flavor and as other review stated it was a little paler pink than I had hoped. The frosting was very yummy, but wished the cake had been a little more moist. The cake was best the day it was baked (it dried out slightly in the fridge).

I had to thaw and mash more of the frozen strawberries than was called for in order to get 3/4 cup of juice; maybe my sieve wasn't fine enough or I don't mash as aggressively as the recipe author. Still, the cake and frosting were delicious.

This cake involves a few steps. I used my own, locally grown organic strawberries, that I had packed and frozen. There are a few steps involved, so it's a bit time consuming. I was a bit disappointed that the cake wasn't as pink as I thought it would be. If you're not afraid of some Red Dye-40, and you want a true pink, you might add a drop or two of red food coloring.The cake was a bit denser than I prefer; I also felt that it wasn't as moist as I had hoped.
