Like ginger and sesame? Like it in a great umami matrix? Then you'll love this.

A thick carrot soup is elevated by grated ginger, white miso, and at the end, a drizzle of sesame oil. Don't skimp on the sesame oil, because it really was a great flavor contrast to the sweet carrots.

This is an excellent vegan dish for a dark winter night. True comfort food that you can feel good about eating.

This was one of the few Smitten Kitchen recipes that we really disliked. I do like miso, carrots, and all the other ingredients on their own, but together they just didn't work for us. I do remember I hated a recipe with miso and squash before, so maybe that's the issue.
