This was everything I was expecting and just as delicious as store bought. Instead of a stand alone ice cream maker I use the KitchenAid stand mixer ice cream attachment and the recipe worked just fine. I refrigerated the base for 24 hours before making it since that is what all the recipes in KitchenAid's book require, but I'm not entirely sure if it would be necessary if cold enough at the start.
