This one is easy for a hot day since you soak the beans overnight then place in the slow cooker atop some chopped bacon and onions with chicken broth and water to cook. When they're almost done you add a can of fire roasted tomatoes. Not sure why they're called spicy since they don't have any spice at all. I would have liked a little heat in mine but hubby though they were perfect and was even bragging to my cousin how good they were.
