Well ... am I ever glad I made these. I never would have believed how delicious cooked cucumbers could be ... a little butter and salt and pepper and yummm.

I never would have even tried them but I had this lone English cuke and no desire for a salad but wanted a veggie for dinner. I saw the recipe and remembered a scene in the movie Julie and Julia where the Julie character said that cooked (I can't remember if hers were braised or sauteed or what) were "a revelation" -- so on I forged and I have to agree -- something of a revelation.
