My daughter took my copy of Foolproof home with her so she could make these for my birthday and anniversary picnic. They were awesome! German chocolate was often my choice of birthday cake while growing up, made by my Granny and after she passed away my Mom. This is a nice version and in addition to pecans the icing has almonds. The cupcakes were moist chocolaty and delicious.

Happy birthday and anniversary southerncooker! Your daughter did a fabulous job - I know the topping can sometimes be tricky on a cupcake. It looks delicious.
