These are great homemade granola bars. They're healthy, sweet enough for kids but not too sweet, and not covered in corn syrup like commercial ones often are but held together by sweetened condensed milk.
We usually make them exactly as laid out in the recipe; any time I've added more nuts or seeds they've been a bit crumblier. However, they do have some consistency problems. They stick to the lasagna pan we use, and are difficult to get out in one piece. They also have a tendency to fall apart....

I've made these several times and we love these. I've even made them with raisins instead of cranberries and they're good both ways. To make them a bit healthier I've even used fat free sweetened condensed milk. They make a great breakfast on the go or a wonderful healthy snack.

I followed the recipe exactly and the bars worked perfectly and tasted great! Lining the pan with baking paper prevented the mixture sticking to the pan.

These are easy to make and come out chewy and delicious. The last time I made them I stored them in the "throwaway" foil tin I baked them in, a la Nigella, but as I was the only one in the house eating them they turned a bit hard and crumbly rather quickly. The next time I make them I'll store them in a more airtight container and see if they last any longer, as they're really worth making for a get up and go portable breakfast.
