Cheat's Garlic Mayonnaise

My husband said he used this recipe to prepare the garlic mayonnaise. Uhm... he must have been inspired by word 'cheat's' in the title, because what he told me hardly resembled this sauce; he said he used 4 tablespoons mayonnaise, 4 teaspoons creme fraiche and 2 bulbs of slightly roasted garlic... I guess that's life with a free spirit cook...

In any case, the result was spot-on. He was afraid that it would be too mild, but it was actually just right, strong enough to let the garlic come through, mild enough to be served with mussels. We used it to serve with mussels Belgian way with french fries, this garlic and a truffle mayonnaise, as well as tomato ketchup for the fries, and a Broad Bean Salad with Chorizo.
