This recipe is a definite crowd pleaser. The flavors balance well and it cooks to a nice firmness. I did not need to modify, but once when I made it I used canned sweet potatoes (the fresh tasted better). The most difficult part for me was perfecting the merengue topping. The first time I made it, it was nice and high. The second time...fell a little flat.
