Easy to make dog treats with crispy fried bacon and peanut butter as the flavouring agents mixed into a wheat germ and flour base. I chose the option of allowing the cookies to dry out in the cooling oven after they were done baking, and transferred them from the cookie sheet to a cooling rack so this step would be more effective.

Love the name of this recipe as our grandpuppy is named Ruby! Great review and nice to know this recipe is in the book. We love making homemade treats for our Ruby and since she loves both bacon and peanut butter I know she'd love these.

QS, we're lucky to have him - he's a 12 1/2-year old black lab.
southerncooker, "grandpuppy"....that is so cute! I don't bake often for Maximus but I should. I think any dog would love these cookies.

Sounds like beloved dogs! I have a 4 1/2 yr old lab-poodle mix. Very spoiled, she gets to come to work with me every day. But -- I've never prepared cookies for her.
