As they said in the recipe, the fresh ground black pepper is one of the stars here. Add a little bit more than you think you need and suddenly the flavors all come together.
The whole wheat pasta is really nice in this; I don't usually care for it.
Also, I substituted fresh goat cheese for the cream cheese to make it lactose-intolerant-friendlier.
I'd make it again. Maybe a pinch of red pepper flakes next time...
