Fantastic nutty cake base, which I've already made a couple of times. I ended up roasting the plums to extract a bit of the moisture (similar to the instructions for the summer peach cake which comes immediately after this plum cake recipe). I also don't use almonds, rather walnuts or hazelnuts, which I always have on hand. Instead of a food processor, I 'grate' the nuts using a hand rotary grater, which works well as an alternative.
