This makes a great anytime snack and I took them to work for my snack there. One of those recipes where I usually have everything already in my pantry or fridge. I did use almonds instead of the walnuts called for since I had those on hand. This recipe calls for unsweetened applesauce which I had and is sweetened with a 1/4 cup of honey. They are not overly sweet and make a delicious guilt free treat.
