Nope, doesn't work. I checked after a few minutes to find one huge lump at the bottom of the rice cooker, and lots of water above. I whisked it, then let it cook again. A few minutes later, I found that the rice cooker had turned itself off and was on 'keeping warm'; the polenta was still quite liquid and had lots of lumps. Start your polenta in cold water. Stir as usual, but no problems with lumps. I love polenta! :-)

Actually, I did start the polenta in cold water, but I didn't/couldn't stir because it was in the rice cooker. Normally I add it to boiling water while I'm whisking - no lumps then. I guess I'm just not that much of a fan of polenta in general - I find it boring, both flavour- and texturewise.
