I’ve never made tapenade before, but do buy it from the store from time to time. I like it on crackers or with some fresh homemade bread. I realized that some of the same ingredients that go into Olive Tapenade (p 250) also go into this recipe, so it is great to make this as well. All you need extra is a red onion. I love the sweetness the slow cooked red onion brings to the other salty ingredients. It was great as part of a Mezze platter with Flatbread (p 280).
