We planned to make Pork and Pears (p. 252) for dinner tonight - instead, DB enthousiastically started to prepare Porc au Poivre, and we only noticed when it was too late. This is why we needed to substitute nearly every other ingredient - onions for shallots, white wine for red wine, and sherry for cognac.
