This very basic recipe produced thin, fudgy brownies with a crackly surface with good chocolate flavour.
Only regular pantry items “ no high end chocolate or fancy sugars and flavourings “ went into these easy saucepan brownies. I did include the optional vanilla and baked them in an 8†square pan….I think the brownies would be too thin baked in a 9†pan.
The author provides several ideas for embellishing them, any of which would probably earn the recipe an extra star.
