Chocolate Buttercream (Ermine Icing)

The final product was tasty but I second guessed myself throughout the process! I have made Ermine frosting before so I know the process and what to expect. My "flour pudding" was so strange - not thick like pudding but more like corn syrup and super sticky. It was just weird, and adding it to the butter was nothing like my usual (white) ermine frosting. It did finally whip up nicely and was pretty tasty on my vanilla cake. I did stretch this to fill and frost an 8 inch, 3 layer cake with not a drop left over.
