I prepared these as an additional dessert for the holidays, selected mostly because it looked easy and odd. Happily they turned out to be delicious, too. You need a strong food processor, by 25+ yr old food processor nearly croaked trying to pulverize soft black licorice, and I felt that I was failing when trying to melt the small fragments on my cooktop.
