I haven't cooked much out of this book, because the dishes are what I would make to entertain, rather than feeding my family every day. What I have tried has been very good, and the range of recipes seem like crowd pleasers. The cookbook itself is very beautiful, with photos of every dish and lots of helpful entertaining tips.

Cookbook Reviews
My first Barefoot Contessa cookbook. I have made several recipes of hers from her show but not from the cookbook yet. I look forward to seeing what others have made and getting some ideas!

This is the newest of all her books so I haven't made many of her recipes. I did make the date nut spice bread and it was wonderful. There are many more great recipes that I want to try very soon. The book has many useful tips for cooking and entertaining.

I like all of Ina's cookbooks but especially this one and Barefoot in Paris. The recipes are very reliable, simple, and delicious ... which makes this a perfect gift for young people starting out on their own or newlyweds. Most of the dishes are quick and simple enough for week-night dinners, but delicious enough for week-end entertaining. Ina makes entertaining look both enticing and doable.

In this one she gives you some hints and tips and even shares some of her food secrets at the beginning of the book. Also included on one page at the beginning of each chapter she gives you some good advice about different topics. At the end she answers some FAQ's to help with some basic food questions. She says you can go to her website barefootcontessa.com to see an ever evolving list. On her website are also menus using all her previous books and this one as well.

The Contessa adds calm to my day. Watching her show on the Food Channel is on my top ten list.
