I have made this pie many times and absolutely love it - the cheesy scone-like topping is delicious, and it looks very impressive. I slice the tomoatoes by hand with no trouble.
Make sure your dish has high sides becuase it will rise while it's cooking.

An easy but impressive looking lunch dish. Success depends on having a mandolin to slice the tomatoes, and an ovenproof dish of the right size.
