Recipes on Cookbooker are linked to a source — a cookbook, website, or magazine issue. You can log a recipe you've tried, leave a rating and review, and attach a photo.
Adding a recipe from a cookbook
- Go to the cookbook's page on Cookbooker.
- Click the Add recipe button at the top of the page.
- Enter the recipe title and the page number. You can also add cuisine, course and other details.
- If you wish, you can add a list of ingredients (optional).
- If you don't want to review the recipe at this point, just click index and it will be added to Cookbooker without a review.
- To review, add your rating, review notes, and optionally a photo. There's also a place for private notes that only you will see.
- Submit — your recipe review will appear on the cookbook page and in your activity feed.
You don't need to write a review to log a recipe — a rating alone is enough. But written notes are especially useful when you want to remember substitutions or adjustments you made, and they help other members.
Adding a recipe from a website
Website recipes work the same way, but instead of a page number you'll see a URL field. Paste the direct link to the recipe page.
Photos
You can attach a photo to any recipe review. Photos appear on the recipe page and in your profile. Supported formats: JPEG, PNG, WebP. Maximum file size: 10MB.
Editing or deleting a recipe review
Find the recipe review on your bookshelf or on the cookbook page, and click Edit. You can update the rating, notes, and photos, or delete the review entirely.
